David found our website through a link on a charity website that we support. As a local businessman he was keen to find a local photography business to work with and we were very pleased that he chose us. He turned up for the shoot with his own family, plus his brother and partner too. His family had bought the shoot for him some long time earlier but he had been a little reluctant to get in front of the camera. At first this was reflected in his awkwardness but his family was a great support and he quickly showed all the signs of really enjoying the shoot. We also enjoyed working with the whole family, who were very friendly, and David’s subsequent testimonial confirmed that all members of his party had enjoyed a very pleasant couple of hours with us and that he was super happy with the results. Many thanks David.
Louise arrived at the shoot with her baby Lennon and her sister-in-law Kelly for backup and support. Lennon was quite a chilled baby so we took advantage of capturing as many images as possible whilst he was calm. Louise’s husband was very ‘into’ his boxing so had bought him a miniature pair of boxing gloves for the shoot, which was a great prop to personalise their images. A great shoot only let down by Kelly’s lack of enthusiasm to be in front of the camera, even though we would have loved to photograph her amazing red hair.
Having found Jade lacked confidence in her first Bump shoot, we were so happy to see that her enthusiasm and preparation had grown for this family shoot. You can see just how proud she is of her little family. The personalised Crate was also a great touch!
Emma came to us very shortly before her baby’s due date and looked absolutely beautiful. She was very relaxed in front of the camera and had come well prepared for the shoot. She new exactly what style of images she was after and we did our absolute best to give her what she wanted. Although her partner was unable to attend the shoot we understand from Emma that he loved the final images as much as we all did. We cannot wait for her to come back for a second photo session with us – this time complete with her new baby!
We had lots of fun capturing Evie with Mum and Dad. The family were so happy with their images and took home their whole collection to share with their loved ones.
This shoot was carried out at the ‘LAvint’ vintage and retro clothing studio in London. The model for the session was Louise who is a professional model, actress and presenter. She was great to work with and quickly demonstrated that she knew how to sell the products she was wearing with style and elegance whilst keeping a fun approach to what she did. Sadly she became unwell during the shoot. Being the professional that she is, she continued on for as long as she could but eventually we had to stop before all the outfits were photographed. We at Focussed on Photography look forward enthusiastically to using her skills again for other work. For information, the image in this gallery with 3 girls shows, from left to right, Sam (whose role on the day was to ensure that the outfits weren’t creased and to manage the detail of how they looked on the model), Lucy (who owns the company and selected the outfits to be modelled, as well as looking after our food and drink needs – thanks Lucy), and, of course, Louise (our delightful model).
This shoot was carried out in the London studio of vintage and retro clothes retailer LAvint. The model for the day was the delightful Jen who is not only very beautiful but is also very good at modelling fashion wear as can be seen from the selection below. The temperature on the day was in the high 30′s and conditions were far from ideal for the shoot as a result but Jen carried it off with real professionalism and without any fuss over a period of several hours. She was a delight to work with and we would have no hesitation in recommending her for use as a model as everything she wore looked good on her and she knew how to show off the great looking outfits to their best. With thanks also to Chloe, the MUA for the day, to Sam for her amazing ability to work hard on the details of the shoot as well as steaming creases out of the clothes in all that heat and, of course, to Lucy who organised the shoot, owned the studio and owned the company too!!
We have been waiting for an opportunity to use a single studio lamp with a focussed beam grid and a honeycomb and when Chris asked us to produce a set of images for him it gave us the perfect opportunity to try this technique out. Chris was very pleased with the results and, for a first attempt at this approach, we were too. Thanks again Chris and good luck for your upcoming far away tour of duty with the British Army!
If you would like to purchase the DIGITAL copy of your photo for just £4.00 please just send me a message on our contact page or call me on 07703562177. We would love to hear from you, and remember we can provide canvasses and framed prints too!
Wendy (Mrs Blackshaw) came to us after hearing about us through friends of hers. She is a lovely woman who wanted a family photoshoot that would include her husband Michael and her two children Finley and Molly-Rose. Molly-Rose was nine months old and she wanted to have pictures of her complete new family to hang on various walls in her house in Maidstone. We set up our mobile studio in her house and got a really nice selection of images in the style she requested and we are pleased to hear that she was very happy with them. With many thanks to the Blackshaw’s for their hospitality on the day and at the subsequent viewing!
This was an outdoor photoshoot that was carried out on a cold but sunny day in private woodland near Maidstone. Andrea is looking at the possibilities of becoming a model and this shoot was one of a series we have done for her to help her to structure a portfolio. A very enjoyable day was had by the three of us involved in the shoot. Thanks again Andrea!
This was the first part of a two part outdoor photoshoot that was carried out in two parts on a cold but sunny day in private woodland near Maidstone. Andrea is looking at the possibilities of becoming a model and this shoot was one of a series we have done for her to help her to structure a portfolio. A very enjoyable day was had by the three of us involved in the shoot. Thanks again Andrea! Thanks also to Preston for the use of his superbike on the day.
Part of a set of images for Andrea that she wanted for her potential modelling portfolio and a first for us in this lighting set-up to create silhouette images. We were pleased to upload the silhouettes to our camera club’s Flickr site and subsequently have been asked to enter a selection of them into an external club competition. We will let you know the results of that and we hope you like them too! This shoot developed into non-silhouette images and some of these are reproduced here for your viewing pleasure.
These lingerie images were shot in our own studio and were the second half to our previous set of silhouette images. We are so pleased with Andrea’s feminine colours and poses. We have decided to use this imagery in our portfolio for other aspiring models to use for guidance during their own shoots. Thank you Andrea for being so easy going and professional on the day. The pleasure was all ours!
This shoot with Andrea was great fun from start to finish. Andrea is a beauty therapist who hadn’t had a proper photo shoot for some time and was keen to get some fresh images. She was happy to go with our direction and was very relaxed throughout. Her bubbly personality shone through and we loved shooting her. We just can’t wait to do it all again sometime soon. Thanks Andrea!
Emma shot this loving and devoted couple who share a love of travelling far and wide to line dancing events, they came to the shoot armed with an array of super smart outfits and they were keen to show off their moves to the camera. Smiles all round! Take a look and you will see why our photographer found it so humbling to be in the company of two very happy people who are clearly comfortable and at one with each other.
Melissa – This photoshoot was carried out by Mike with Melissa in the town of Heathfield in East Sussex. Melissa had suffered with body consciousness issues throughout her early teenage years and her parents thought that the photo shoot would be a good idea to convince her that she was a beautiful young woman. Melissa was very keen to become a model but didn’t believe that she had the physical attributes for this to be a possibility. At the viewing of her images a couple of weeks after the shoot it was a joy to see her growing awareness that her concerns about her looks were completely unnecessary. In fact, with the images from this shoot, Melissa has subsequently gained a 3-year contract with a London based modelling agency! We at Focussed on Photography wish her much success with this venture into the future.
Kate Garbash is a new mum, and when she heard the news she had won our family portraiture competition, she could not wait to come along to show off her beautifull baby girl. Kate’s sister in law came along too to enjoy some much loved family fun and when they saw their photo’s they were over the moon.
Family Shoot with our photographer Emma- The Gibson family, Mum, Dad and their two delightful daughters were so much fun and provided plenty of photo opportunities – smiles all round! A variety of lighting techniques were used to produce the vibrant, punchy colours. This was a great shoot, dancing around the studio to music and playfully capturing the girls and their natural expressions and personalities!
Anne Hales was another lucky competition winner and she redeemed her shoot with Emma our photographer. Our main subject was a very tiny baby nethertheless he was a cooperative model and posed in different outfits with mummy and daddy. When Anne and her husband came to view their images they said they were great and chose to purchase a CD of the whole collection. Don’t forget we offer baby packages so you can enjoy more than one shoot and capture the little ones as they grow and change from newborn to two years.
Rebecca was invited to come along with her little boy to be photographed in the studio with Emma. Her son was just six months old and pulled the most wonderful faces! A beautiful model with a big personality. Thanks guys!
This studio shoot was for a 19 year old full time male model who wanted some additional pictures for his portfolio. He was very professional and fun to work with. Charlie regularly features in Boy London on-line fashion pages and also in Vice magazine. He has done runways for Sportswear International in Milan and has appeared in Panorama Icon, an Italian magazine!
Mike and Emma’s very first shoot together and a huge success. Hayley asked us to photograph her in a glamourous style however found it unnatural to be in front of the camera but we found a happy medium between helping Hayley to pose and encouraging her inner model out. Before long the shoot was well underway and we produced fantastic results. It was clear that this was going to be a great partnership, and Hayley is always happy to model on our new upcoming shoots, we are looking forward to the next one!
This was a delightful shoot on a cold snowy day and was done for Aimee as her friend Lauren was emigrating to Australia a week after the shoot and Aimee (and several of her friends) wanted a keepsake of all her best friends together for posterity.
Laura already had a young boy and was keen to capture the progress of her pregnancy on film this time around. She came to visit our studio on four separate occasions that were equally spaced apart to serve as a reminder of how her physique was changing as she gradually approached full term. On the fifth visit to the studio she came armed with her newborn baby. Congratulations Laura!!
Andrea was keen to have some ‘sexy’ images in her portfolio to remind (and convince herself) that she had a nice body. Her lack of shyness and her confidence in front of the camera were such that she got the images she wanted, although she had to wait a couple of months for the viewing as she was living in Liverpool at the time and hadn’t had the opportunity to return to see the output of the shoot. We were pleased that she loved them when she finally got to see them!
Photographed by Mike – This was my second shoot with Louise. The first had been a year earlier and was quite hard work as Louise was very camera shy at that time. How a year can change a person’s confidence! Since the last shoot Louise has spent a year in America on secondment from Kingston University studying for a Bachelor of Science (BSc) Degree in Biomedical Sciences and her self belief in front of a camera lens has grown massively. A great shoot with a pretty girl! Roll on another year maybe?
Lydia is a professional Artist’s Model. She’s been ‘fine art’ modelling for Kent Adult Education for about 9 years and has worked with schools, colleges, photographers, sculptors, private artists and art groups. She works regularly as a model in Italy at The Retreat, a painting holiday villa in Le Marche. She has also modelled for the television show “Celebrity Coach Trip” which aired during 2012. Lydia came to me as I had photographed her before and she liked my work and now wanted a set of images which she could potentially use on her new website. The shoot took place at Hucking in Kent. We had a fun day and a most enjoyable shoot.
Louisa came to me having recently completed her teenage years and having no experience of being in front of a professional camera before. She was unsure what to expect and came incredibly well prepared as a result, with lots of outfits. She struggled initially to use her eyes in such a way as to get the best from her good looks but, after some advice and practice on the best techniques to achieve this, she got into the swing of the shoot and had a lot of fun with it. She went away with some really nice images which she is very proud of and we had lots of fun during the shoot. She left with the promise to return again at some point before too long. We look forward to that day.
Have a look at some of the pictures from Grant, Rachel and Ellie’s Christmas shoot. Ellie was the youngest of a family of four siblings. The collection was shot when Ellie was around six months old. It was her first shoot and she was able to sit up and crawl around and she showed us some great poses. Rachel and Grant loved their collection so much they decided to make up personalised frames as Christmas gifts for their Mum and also a lovely photo mug with a special message for their Nan. We hope to see you guys again in the studio at some point with all the gang in tow!
This was our first official shoot since Emma and I formed our partnership. Hayley was initially uncomfortable in front of our studio lights but soon found herself ‘in the zone’ and relaxing into the shoot as she gained her confidence. She taught us a lot about how we worked best together and was a great model for us. We would love an opportunity for another shoot sometime soon! A gorgeous girl and brilliant fun.
